I am looking for some screencaps!

First, I would love some screen caps from the AWZ shower scene with DeRo (you know the one!!) I thought there were some posted on this comm, but I can't seem to find them. I would also love some screen caps of them after they have gotten back together and they are on the red couch of love and Deniz is crying. Love my crying boys!!!

Second, I'm looking for some pics from VL, specifically Chrolli's kiss right after Gregor proposes to Luise and they are standing outside the window.

If anyone could link me to either of these, I would be forever greatful!!!

Thanks!!!

I do not want anyone to think I don't appreciate this gift. I really, really do. I can't wait till I can use it. In fact this whole month is kind of fun because Hannuka and my birthday sort of roll together and it's a fun time of coming home to surprise UPS packages.

So today I have this lovely and large amazon package awaiting and I thought to myself "self, this is much too large for that window shrink wrap you ordered. At least, I really hope so."

It turned out to be a Nintendo WiiFit Plus with balance board. This is an awesome gift! ...except I don't have a wii yet. I was fairly sure my parents knew that. Apparently I was wrong. Or their congnitive thinking skills have been dulled by the smell of potato latkes.

*hugs her parents* OH YOU GUYS. You are equal parts adorable, hilarious and Oy.

Now. What to say to them.

Oh, El Jay, why is your memories system so frustratingly hard to edit and so user-unfriendly?

There's no way to mass-edit categories and no way to consolidate categories; lower-case category names are treated as different categories as upper-case category names, and if you want to delete a lot of memories at the same time you have to dig through the FAQ instead of clicking on an "options" link or something similarly useful.

I would much rather have a useful memories system than yet another virtual gift.

Just so's you know.

Speaking of things that make me want to tear my hair out...the plugin I use to cross-post from Wordpress to El Jay has been updated to include user pictures, which is great...except that the coding makes Wordpress crash. This is not great. So I've had to disable it until the plugin is updated again.

GRR ARGH.

And the answer is...not quite yet. There's still a bit of testing and migrating of tags and other information that has to happen before the AO3 is ready for us!

However, we understand that time is passing quickly, and some people are concerned that they may not be available at the point uploading does become possible. If this is likely for you, what you'll need to do is find someone who has or will have an AO3 account (ie, any of your fellow Yuletiders will do; you'll all be getting invites when the archive is moved over) to upload for you.

What that person will then have to do is upload from their own account, listing themselves as a co-author on your story, and then they can remove their name from the story, leaving it with you as the "owner."

I've made a post to [info]yuletide where people can offer to serve as uploaders for anyone who needs a proxy, and it will list the information you'll need to send them.

I can’t find the software for my printer/scanner thingamabob, so the scanner doesn’t work; so this *points* is a picture of a picture.

OMG thank you so much for the snowflake cookies y'all! Totally brightened my day. *squishes*

I'm now full steam ahead on my festivid, which means I'm falling even further behind on my tv watching so I'm not up to date on...anything. But progress is being made! It's been so long since I started a vid and knew it would be finished. I kind of like the way deadlines give you no choice. The I Suckitis is still strong, but excitement at vidding is also making a comeback.

The radiation burns are finally starting to heal. We are at the peeling stage which is sincerely gross, so the less said about that the better. But I can see a time, not very far off at all, that I will not be in pain and that rules.

December means getting to break out the Christmas kitten icon, WOO.

FYI
As long as LJ's reply service is down, I'll be holding off on some replies that I don't want lost in the shuffle. I HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN YOU. I think. Wait. Where am I?

I'm quite happy that I've changed my layout to a Christmas theme. It looks very nice but I'm wondering if there is a way to get the sidebar on the left side so pictures don't get pushed under it?
Here is my layer.

Can you tell me exactly where I have to put this code? I've been given so many codes I'm not sure which are which. Thanks.

Reposting from the 4th.

  • Second draft of Dean/Cas exchange finished and sent to beta. Phew. Completely not what I envisioned when I started, but I’m okay with that.
  • Enjoying the hell out of Sci-Fi’s “Alice.” It’s dark and weird, but intriguing. (DVR’ing it. Thinking of apping Hatter to Milliways, but we’ll see. I think about apping characters a lot more than I actually do.)
  • Have a vague plot of vagueness for Yuletide. Two weeks for that. Meep!
  • I’ve written over 11,000 words so far this month. A smidgen over 13,000 to go to reach 250,000 for the year. It blows my mind a bit. Blows. My. Mind.

Also, I’m thinking the below for tattoo #8.

Thank you to everyone who sent a snowflake! LJ disabled the feature before I could reciprocate them all, so if you did not get one from me consider it sent in spirit. ♥

Aside from the lovely v-gifts, today was... really one of those days I could have done without. But rather than dwell on the negative I attempted to distract myself with the crack.

The resulting art: chibi Brad, Nate and sort-of-Ray? )

Haha, anyway. I heart this fandom, as if it weren't abundantly clear. ♥

Snow
Man, I'm gone for 24 hours and it snows on the profile page. Surely someone coordinated this, right? Well, at any rate, thanks to [info]painlessj, [info]sapote3, [info]not_sally, [info]reedfem, [info]krossero, [info]laceymcbain, [info]ninasis, [info]geeklite, and two anonymous people.

I was away because I couldn't get my ancient iBook to boot up (if this happens to anyone else, remove the battery, attach the power cable, and hit the startup button).

Today was the day of my semi-occasional Solitary Expedition, which is when I, with breathtaking environmental irresponsibility, drive long distances to hang out in malls and buy not a huge amount of anything. (Last time, I went to an outlet mall outside Indianapolis -- that's like a four-hour drive, one-way, in order to buy two pairs of pants, one shirt, a belt, a packet of socks, and some chocolate covered dried cherries.)

This time I went north. There had been a half-inch of snow last night, and as I was driving past the nature preserve, I could see stretches of prairie grass and coneflower plants (the cones are of course bare this time of year), and every seedhead and cone had its own little cap of snow. Beautiful.
